Mash up of recent days in no particular order. Things didn’t go that well after the cobra liqueur, Ducky remembers that much. Blissful service was not had and the 24 hour bus journey from Ha Noi to Hoi An was painful, freakish and couldn’t have ended sooner. But my god does this town make up for it, as do the plethora of friendly faces and local chums made. Guanyin and I have developed a good relationship. I think Ducky approves.

DUCKY had a lovely day milling about in parks and visiting Shogunate palaces in Kyoto. Then he made dinner from tasty creatures obtained from the market this morning :9 he’s also preparing to celebrate 365 days (one year) of Love Delicatessen tomorrow in Osaka ;D

SO! DUCKY went north from Tokyo to Sapporo and Otaru where he found a GERMAN THEMED BRAUHAUS (FFS, Japan?!!!) and discovered Otaru beer which is LOVELY. He also stumbled across a small food place in Sapporo called ChiaoChiao (possibly also I think translates to もちもち) and found my favourite snack-TAKOYAKI (yum). A couple of days later, in the cold windy snow, the Shinkansen delivered DUCKY into Hakone, where he had a lovely float in an Onsen and slept blissfully in a ryokan. In the morning, before coming to Kyoto, he had bread products with coffee and waited for sneaky Mount Fuji to make an appearance (without success). But there were pirate ships and ferries to watch so it was ok.

Random travel tip: always check the exchange rate in countries...

Ducky escaped from the Ideal Home Show in Earl’s Court last Tuesday.. Since then he’s visited Becky & Faye, Hackney Brewery and Jack at The Duke of Wellington. He is still at large and believed to be planning a trip overseas in the near future. The journey will be long, the trials unexpected and challenging. But DUCKY WILL PREVIAL.
